Jacksonville Employment & Labor Law Firm Grows

Jacksonville, FL - Constangy, Brooks & Smith’s Jacksonville office has once again expanded. The firm is a national labor and employment law firm representing management with offices throughout Florida. The Jacksonville office now has 10 attorneys to service clients.

“We are excited about these excellent lawyers joining our firm, because it is a reflection of the increased client demand we are experiencing,” said John F. Dickinson, the firm’s managing partner of the Jacksonville office. “All of these attorneys are outstanding practitioners who bring a wealth of experience in labor and employment law matters,” he added.

Joann M. Bricker, a 20-year employment law veteran, joins the firm as a partner. She comes to Constangy with extensive knowledge and expertise in assisting employers in a wide variety of workplace issues including counseling to resolve work related issues, handling federal administrative proceedings and employment litigation, representing employers in grievance arbitrations and traditional labor matters. Bricker received her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law and her B.A. from the University of South Florida.

Heather A. Owen, Board Certified in labor and employment law, joins the firm as a partner. For 15 years, she has counseled employers in employment matters with a focus on problem solving, litigation prevention, risk reduction and legal analysis of complex employment issues. Owen has successfully defended employers in all areas of employment law and has experience in representing clients in traditional labor law matters, such as defending unfair labor practice charges and opposing union organizing campaigns. She received her J.D. with Honors and B.S. from the University of Florida.

Carrie B. Cherveny, an associate, focuses her practice on employment litigation and employee relations in both state and federal courts. Cherveny counsels employers in problem prevention, employee discipline and termination, and employment discrimination and harassment. Prior to entering law school, she was a human resources professional specializing in start-up organizations and companies in transition. She has extensive experience in policy development and management and employee training. Cherveny received her J.D. from Stetson College of Law and her M.A and B.A. from the University of South Florida.
