The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill College of Law Student Awarded Annual Diversity Scholars Award
Winston-Salem, NC -
Constangy, Brooks & Smith, LLC proudly presented its annual 2008 Diversity Scholars Award to The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill student Ms. Jessica N. Holmes. Holmes, a second-year law student, received a $2,000 scholarship.
Constangy initiated the award program in order to recognize the achievements of deserving law students and help defray the considerable expense of law school, while promoting diversity in the legal profession. The firm awards scholarships to a second-year law student in each of the regions where it has offices. Award recipients were selected based on the following criteria: academic achievement; commitment to diversity in the community, in the student’s school or work environment; and personal achievement in overcoming challenges to reach goals.
University of North Carolina School of Law student Holmes is the class president for the Student Bar Association, fundraiser coordinator for the Domestic Violence Advocacy Project, law related coordinator for the Pro Bono Board and a project organizer for Project Love.
