Three Constangy, Brooks & Smith’s Attorneys to Present at the Conference

Atlanta - Constangy, Brooks & Smith, LLC is proud to announce three of the firm’s attorneys will present at the 59th Annual Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Conference & Exposition.  The conference will be held June 24-27, 2007 at Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.  To register and for more information, visit www.shrm.org/conference/annual.

The annual conference is known throughout the human resource profession for offering the most comprehensive and relevant HR professional development programs.  Constangy’s attorneys will present the following topics.

Neil H. Wasser, (Atlanta office) chair of Constangy’s executive committee, will present “OSHA Inspections in the Real World.”  This program will provide HR professionals with simple steps to both better prepare for and avoid OSHA inspections.

Timothy A. Davis, managing member (equity partner) in the Kansas City, Mo. office, will present “Skeletons, Brooms and Old Baggage: Cleaning Your Closet with an HR Audit.”  This interactive program will provide practical advice and valuable tools to assist HR professionals in evaluating their employment policies, practices and procedures.  Davis will walk attendees through a complete audit of the HR function to address critical issues and areas that often lead to litigation or governmental audits.

Jonathan Yarbrough, managing member (equity partner) in the Asheville, N.C. office, will present “The Blog is Mightier than the Sword!  Employment Issues for the Electronic Age.”  In today’s electronic age, employees are equipped with so many electronic devices.  “Electronic employees” can present many challenges to employers by using the internet for improper purposes such as gambling and illegal downloads to stealing confidential information to posting unflattering blogs about their employer and coworkers.  This session will inform employers of the legal and practical issues.
