Janowitz has recently been named as one of the Top One Hundred
Labor Attorneys in the United States for 2006, as determined
by Labor Relations Institute, Inc., a leading industry information
source.
Janowitz made the elite list due to the number of National Labor
Relations Board (NLRB) elections in which he represented clients
and the success of those election outcomes. He was selected
from more than 8,700 attorneys evaluated by Labor Relations Institute.
Janowitz specializes in every aspect of proceedings before the
NLRB. He has defended cases involving union organizing,
collective bargaining, single/joint employer status, successor-ship,
discrimination, healthcare bargaining units and cessation of
operation. He also serves as chief negotiator in complex
negotiations for initial and successor labor agreements in many
industries including healthcare, transportation, warehousing,
construction, hospitality, retail, entertainment and manufacturing. Prior
to opening the firm’s Kansas City, MO. office in 1999,
Janowitz was a partner with the law firm of Shook, Hardy & Bacon,
LLP, where he served as Chair Labor/Employment Section. Before
entering private practice, Janowitz served as regional attorney
for the NLRB.
