F. DAMON KITCHEN ELECTED TO CHAIR OF THE FLORIDA BAR’S LABOR AND EMPLOYMENT LAW SECTION


JACKSONVILLE, FLA.  (August 10, 2005) - F. Damon Kitchen, a member at Constangy, Brooks and Smith, LLC, was recently elected to chair the Labor and Employment Section of The Florida Bar for the 2005-2006 term.
Kitchen has been a member of the Florida Bar for 15 years, serving the Section as a member of the executive council, secretary/treasurer, Legal Education Committee chair and most recently, chair elect. As the Chair of the Labor and Employment Section, Kitchen’s goals are to: (1) grow the Section’s current membership of over 2,400 attorneys; (2) increase membership involvement in the Section’s many function-based committees; (3) continue the Section’s tradition of providing fine CLE; and (4) enhance the level of services the Section currently provides to its members and the judiciary within the State.
As an attorney, Kitchen has successfully represented both private and public sector management clients in all areas of labor and employment law. His experience ranges from defending clients in traditional labor law matters, employment and civil rights litigation and wage and hour issues, to assisting employers in problem prevention and the legal analysis of complex employment issues. Kitchen is a frequent lecturer and presenter addressing human resource directors, managers and business owners regarding labor and employment law issues.
