of a nationwide labor law boutique. Reid E. Meyers, formerly Senior
Vice President and Chief Labor Counsel for financial services giant
USAA, has been tapped to lead the new San Antonio offices of Constangy,
Brooks & Smith, LLC, a labor and employment law firm with
14 offices across nine states.
"I am delighted to be back with
Constangy. This is a great opportunity to serve Constangy’s
current Texas clients and to grow our practice in South and
Central Texas, as well as the Valley," said
Meyers, who was with Constangy’s Atlanta office prior
to his nearly 17-year tenure at USAA.
Currently, Constangy's representative Texas clients include the
Argonaut Group, Pizza Hut, USAA and Neiman Marcus, as well as national
firms such as Sara Lee Corporation, Target Stores, Hertz and NASCAR.
Working with Meyers in the San Antonio offices will be Larry E.
Gee, a board certified labor and employment lawyer, who joins Constangy
after serving as a shareholder with San
Antonio’s Cox & Smith Incorporated and, previously, Foster,
Heller & Kilgore, P.C. Along with Meyers, Gee will assist
the Firm's clients with carrying out effective human resource
policies,
litigation prevention, work place safety issues, labor relations
and defense of employment law claims throughout Texas.
Bolstering the Firm's services to its Texas clients and integrating
with the San Antonio team are Austin lawyers Mark Flora and
Ashlee Mann Ligarde. Flora previously spent 15 years as a labor
lawyer
with General Motors, and focuses his practice on representing
manufacturers, auto makers and suppliers. Ligarde opened the
Austin office earlier
this year after having practiced with the firm’s Atlanta
office since 1998.
