October 14, 2004, AUSTIN, TEXAS – Bringing
the resources of a nationwide labor and employment law firm to
central Texas, Mark Flora and Ashlee Mann Ligarde have been tapped
to lead the new Austin offices of Constangy, Brooks & Smith,
LLC, a management-side labor and employment law firm with 14
offices across nine states.
Flora, who has 29 years of experience, including 15 years as
a labor lawyer with General Motors, focuses his practice on representing
manufacturers, automakers and suppliers. He appeared in the Employment
Law Section of the Best Lawyers in America and has been recognized
as a Texas Super Lawyer for 2003 and 2004 for Texas Monthly Magazine.
A frequent speaker on labor and employment law issues, Flora
also has been published nationally in the Labor Lawyer legal
journal.

Ligarde opened the Austin office after practicing in Constangy’s
Atlanta office since 1998. Her history with the firm has provided
continuity for firm clients and enabled the Texas offices to
maintain the firm’s culture. Ligarde’s practice focuses
on counseling and representing clients of all sizes in the area
of employment law.
Bolstering the firm's services to its Texas clients are San Antonio-based
labor and employment lawyers Reid Meyers, formerly Senior Vice
President and Chief Labor Counsel for insurance giant USAA, and
Larry Gee, a board certified labor and employment lawyer who
joins Constangy after serving as a shareholder with South Texas'
Cox & Smith Incorporated and, previously, San Antonio's Foster,
Heller & Kilgore, P.C.
