Breakfast & Registration: 8:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.

Presentation: 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.

Under the Trump Administration, we have already seen an increase in ICE Raids and continued focus on I-9 compliance. We anticipate that employers will continue to face increased fines, not only as a result of ICE audits but also from individual charges and independent investigations by the U.S. Justice Department’s Immigrant and Employee Rights Section for Unfair Immigration-Related Employment Practices. In many of these cases, the “violations” are inadvertent and without any intent to discriminate.

Join Constangy attorney Elizabeth Joiner as she addresses best practices to avoid such claims and how to better train those in your organization who handle the “onboarding” process. This complimentary briefing will focus on:

  • Anticipated changes in immigration worksite enforcement under the Trump Administration
  • Using the new “smarter” I-9 to improve compliance
  • Conducting self-audits of Form I-9s to avoid fines by ICE
  • Training those responsible for the “onboarding” process to avoid claims of unfair immigration-related employment practices
