NASHVILLE—National labor and employment law firm Constangy, Brooks & Smith, LLP, welcomes attorney El Shon Richmond as an associate in its Nashville office. His practice focuses on employment litigation.
Richmond has more than twelve years of experience representing and advising state agencies and universities involving labor and employment matters in administrative, trial, and appellate litigation in state and federal courts. In his role as an Assistant Attorney General for the state of Washington, he handled matters involving discrimination, retaliation, accommodation, and harassment claims, as well as various employment-related torts such as negligent hiring and supervision and wrongful discharge.
In his practice, Richmond also helps employers avoid lawsuits through preventative training and counseling.
Prior to joining Constangy, Richmond served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Washington Attorney General's Office. He also served as an Associate Law Clerk/Secretary for late Arkansas Supreme Court Justice Andree Layton Roaf. A graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Bowen School of Law, he received his undergraduate degree from Arkansas State University.
