Mel Haas Named As Top 10 Labor Attorney in Nation for 2nd Consecutive Year

ATLANTA- For the second consecutive year, Constangy, Brooks & Smith, LLP partner W. Melvin Haas has been named by Human Resource Executive magazine to its list of Top 10 Labor Attorneys in the United States. In addition, he is included in the overall list of the Top 100 Most Powerful Employment Attorneys.

The lists were developed by Human Resource Executive magazine in conjunction with Lawdragon, a Los Angeles-based networking site for lawyers and clients. Attorneys were selected on the basis of curriculum-vitae analyses, evaluations by clients and peers, and reporting by the Lawdragon staff. Haas and other selectees are featured in the June issue of Human Resource Executive, a magazine focused on strategic issues in human resources.

Haas has long been recognized as an expert in labor law. He serves as Vice Chairman of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Labor Relations Committee and has been named by the Labor Relations Institute, Inc. to its list of Top One Hundred Labor Attorneys in the United States. He has handled more than 100 union elections and an equal number of contract negotiations. Haas formerly worked as an attorney for the National Labor Relations Board.

A graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law, Haas serves as head of Constangy’s Macon, Georgia office.
