ATLANTA—  National labor and employment law firm, Constangy, Brooks & Smith, LLP, welcomes new workers’ compensation associate Pierrette H. Jones.  Constangy’s workers’ compensation practice has grown nationally with recent hires such as Kansas City partner Michelle Haskins, Greenville partner David Kelly and Atlanta associate Seth Sabbath.

As Atlanta’s newest addition to the group, Jones will join these workers’ compensation attorneys in labor and employment matters such as defending employers, insurers and the self-insured.

Jones attended the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Ga., on a tennis scholarship and earned her B.S. degree in Industrial Management.  In 1998, she obtained her J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law in Winston-Salem, N.C., and moved to Georgia, where she began working as a prosecutor for the City of Atlanta Solicitor's Office.

Thereafter, Jones practiced at the Dekalb County District  Attorney's, where she prosecuted felony offenses through jury trials.  Having worked in criminal prosecution for five years, Jones transitioned to civil practice and workers’ compensation in 2003.  Prior to joining Constangy, Jones was a senior at Drew, Eckl, and Farnham, LLP, where she practiced workers’ compensation for five years.

A member of the Georgia State Bar Association and the American Bar Association, she has spoken at numerous workers' compensation seminars throughout Georgia educating existing and potential clients about workers' compensation principles.  Jones was a 2006 and 2008 nominee for Fulton County Daily Report's "On the Rise" award and a 2006 nominee for Atlanta Business Chronicle's "Top 40 under 40" award.
