Marie attended the University of California where she graduated, cum laude, in 2003 with a degree in English and Political Science and received her J.D. from U.C. Hastings College of Law in 2006. She is a member of the Ventura County Bar Association, the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles County, and the Ventura County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Before joining the firm, Marie practiced Insurance Defense with an emphasis on premises liability.  Prior to attending law school, she worked for a non-profit organization in Santa Barbara County that helps build low-income housing.  There, Marie learned first-hand, some of the struggles facing small businesses and became committed to helping such organizations overcome their obstacles, particularly in the employment arena.  She joined Landegger, Baron & Lavenant partly due to its philosophy that education is the key to preventing lawsuits in the future. Marie lives in Ventura County, where she enjoys hiking, going to the beach and volunteering her time with local community activist and political groups.
