Kate's practice focuses on assisting employers in defense of labor and employment matters in federal and state courts, as well as before administrative agencies. She represents a broad range of clients in employment matters, including matters involving alleged race, sex, age, disability, and pregnancy discrimination; complex wage and hour issues; wrongful termination claims; trade secrets and noncompete agreements; and state law claims. Kate also assists employers in responding to administrative complaints before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Tennessee Human Rights Commission, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development, as well as safety and retaliation complaints before the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA).
Kate received her law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law, where she served as Executive Editor of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law. Prior to joining Constangy, Kate served as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Juliet Griffin, Federal Magistrate Judge in the Middle District of Tennessee.
