Overview

Michael is a member of the Constangy Cyber Team and assists clients with privacy matters and guiding them through the incident response process. He has experience developing privacy and cybersecurity policies and advising on privacy schemes like the CCPA and HIPAA/HITECH in addition to coordinating threat investigations and responses. He offers clients a plethora of practical experience gained from a multi-disciplinary background, including legal, data analytics, and information technology. Michael is an avid follower of legal and regulatory framework developments in the cybersecurity and privacy arena and frequently writes on emerging issues.

Michael’s experience has been gained from practice within law firms, most recently in cybersecurity incident response, data privacy, and Ukraine-Russia conflict crisis response, as well as commercial litigation, land use, and permitting practice. Further, Michael worked extensively in-house for a Washington, D.C.-based marketing consulting firm, served on an industry advisory board for nonprofit marketing agencies, and served as a volunteer developing privacy policies for local nonprofit organizations. Michael holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) credential from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
