Overview
Tim advises employers on a wide range of employment law issues, focusing on compliance and risk management.
He counsels clients on matters involving the NLRA, FMLA, Title VII, ADA, FLSA, EPA, OSHA, ERISA, and various state and local employment statutes. Tim helps employers proactively address complex termination scenarios, maintain union-free operations, develop non-discrimination policies, and implement compliance procedures for FMLA, ADA, and wage and hour laws. He also assists with the design and implementation of internal audits, training materials, employee handbooks, and procedure manuals.
Tim has extensive experience representing employers before agencies such as the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and the Department of Labor’s Wage & Hour Division. He also litigates in both state and federal courts. His practice includes advising employers on union organizing campaigns, helping them navigate the complexities of the NLRA, and providing guidance on legal dos and don’ts during such efforts.
In addition to his legal practice, Tim is a sought-after speaker on various employment law topics. He regularly leads training seminars and speaks to human resources, trade, and employer groups. Tim is also the head of the firm’s Kansas City office.
Before joining Constangy, Tim was with the law firm of Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal, where he gained extensive experience in labor and employment law.
