The Right Fit

In a client satisfaction survey, Constangy clients were asked the open-ended question, “What is your biggest ‘pet peeve’ about working with attorneys from other law firms?”  The bulk of responses reveal that clients do not like arrogance, a condescending attitude, or attorneys who speak in “legalese.”

At Constangy, the “right fit” entails more than what’s found on a resume.  Attorneys must be, well . . . real.  We look for down-to-earth attorneys who will listen to clients and show them respect.  We look for attorneys who give practical, on-the-spot advice and who are trusted to provide sound strategic guidance.  Also, we look for attorneys who clients just plain like.

Qualities We Look For In New Associates
Given the nature of the firm’s practice areas, we are looking for mature and articulate candidates with strong writing skills who are interested in practicing labor and employment law and representing management. Candidates should rank in the top 20% of their class and possess law review, law journal, moot court and/or mock trial experience. Recognizing that these criteria do not always guarantee success as a practicing attorney, Constangy, Brooks & Smith also considers candidates who do not meet the above-referenced criteria but who have significant relevant experience or otherwise have distinguished themselves as outstanding candidates.
