Constangy, Brooks, Smith and Prophete, LLP is pleased to welcome Lara de Leon as a partner working out the firm’s Austin, Texas and Orange County, California offices.

Ms. de Leon brings more than 20 years of experience, having spent her entire career advising and advocating for businesses with respect to employment law matters. She has a strong litigation practice, having defended clients in employment-related lawsuits involving claims that included harassment, discrimination, leave of absence/accommodation and wage and hour matters.

De Leon comes to Constangy after spending the last seven years as a shareholder with Ogletree Deakins, where she co-founded and co-chaired the firm’s Pay Equity Practice Group. She also served for more than a decade as in-house employment counsel, which she says gives her a unique perspective in advising clients, as she is able to appreciate the challenges in-house counsel face. She received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Houston Law Center. Ms. de Leon is Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Labor and Employment Law

“We’re excited to add Lara to our Constangy team,” said Neil Wasser, chair of Constangy’s executive committee. “She brings a wealth of experience in defending claims and conducting audits related to pay equity, which is a key concern for many employers today. Her trial and arbitration skills complement and expand our bench strength in both Texas and California, where we continue to pursue aggressive growth.”

Constangy also welcomes new associates in two of its California offices:

Jeffrey Fields has joined the Los Angeles office, bringing seven years of experience to the team, representing clients across a wide range of single-plaintiff and class/collective action matters. He earned his J.D. from Loyola Law School Los Angeles, and previously served as an associate at a national litigation defense firm in Los Angeles.

Lynsey Johnson has joined the firm’s San Francisco office. Prior to joining Constangy, Lynsey practiced for six years in the areas of healthcare, business, construction, real estate and real property at two California-based litigation firms. She received her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings.
