The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has recently issued new proposed regulations implementing the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act ("HITECH Act"), which provides stronger privacy and security protection for health information.

Constangy is reviewing the 234-page preamble and proposed regulations, and will issue a more thorough bulletin in the near future. In the meantime, if you have any questions about the proposed regulations or other benefits issues, please contact any member of Constangy's Employee Benefits Practice Group or the Constangy attorney of your choice.
