Constangy Appoints Cara Crotty as Co-Chair of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Practice Group

National labor and employment law firm Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete, LLP is pleased to announce the appointment of Cara Crotty, a partner in the firm’s Columbia, SC office, as co-chair of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Practice Group. She joins Boston-based partner, Punam Rogers, as co-chair.

Crotty advises employers on ways to avoid litigation and has defended employers in cases involving virtually every aspect of the employment relationship, including discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims and various other federal and state law claims. As the chair of the Affirmative Action/OFCCP practice group, Crotty is at the forefront of guiding businesses through intricate compliance landscapes. Crotty represents federal contractors covered by Executive Order 11246, Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act in their affirmative action compliance obligations by assisting with Plan preparation, completion of EEO-1 and VETS-4212 Reports, and defending compliance evaluations. She prepares privileged compensation and pay equity analyses for organizations examining their pay practices. Crotty also currently serves as chair of the Affirmative Action/OFCCP practice group. Crotty speaks regularly for various organizations on these topics and conducts training for companies of all sizes.

In addition to her legal practice, Crotty is active in the community. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Pawmetto Lifeline and as General Counsel for the National Industry Liaison Group. Previously, Crotty was on the Board of Directors for the South Carolina Diversity Counsel and the South Carolina Industry Liaison Group.

Crotty received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and her law degree from the University of South Carolina.
