Press Room

National labor and employment law firm Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete is pleased to welcome two partners, a senior counsel and two associates to our growing team of talented attorneys.

Luis Hansen has joined Constangy’s newly established Northern New Jersey office as a partner, bringing ten years of experience in employment law. In addition to previous experience at FordHarrison, Hansen spent eight years working as a plaintiff’s attorney for employment law matters. He also served as a clerk for the Honorable Jose L. Linares in the District of New Jersey. Hansen received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and his J.D. from Northwestern University.

Terry Higham has joined Constangy’s Los Angeles office as a partner. Higham is a seasoned trial attorney with more than 30 years of legal experience, with a strong focus on labor and employment matters. He comes to the firm from FordHarrison, and previously practiced with national law firms including Andrews Kurth and Wilson Elser. Higham received his undergraduate degree from the University of Utah and his J.D. from the University of the Pacific.

Matthew T. Clark has joined the Northern New Jersey office as senior counsel, bringing ten years of experience advising clients in complex labor relations and employment law matters. He comes to Constangy from FordHarrison, and previously practiced with Boyd Richards Parker & Colonelli and Mets Schiro & McGovern. Clark was selected to the 2022 New Jersey Rising Stars list issued by Thomson Reuters (no aspect of this advertisement has been approved by the Supreme Court of New Jersey). He received his undergraduate degree from Hamilton College, and his J.D. and a Certificate in Workplace Law from the University of Denver.

Nia Doaks has joined Constangy’s Winston-Salem office as an associate after spending two years with Poyner Spruill, where she focused on her practice on employment and immigration law. She received an undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University and her J.D. and an M.B.A. from Wake Forest University.

Nicole D. Espin has joined the Northern New Jersey office as an associate. Espin has four years of labor and employment law experience, previously practicing with FordHarrison and Fox Rothschild. She received her undergraduate degree and her J.D. from Rutgers University.

Commenting on the firm’s continued growth, Neil Wasser, chair of the executive committee, said Constangy is continuing a strategic growth strategy that has seen the opening of nine new offices since 2015, including the Northern New Jersey office opened earlier this month under the leadership of partner Sal Simao.

“We’re always looking for talented attorneys who want to provide top-notch client service and work with a diverse, collaborative team and play a strong role in our ongoing success,” said Wasser. “These latest arrivals bring an outstanding range of talent that deepens our bench strength in several important and growing markets.”
