The Georgia Safety Conference is the state’s leading event dedicated to building a community of professionals committed to reducing workplace risks and hazards through innovative safety, health, and environmental programs. The annual event brings together more than 500 participants and 60 speakers for three days of professional development, networking, and collaboration focused on advancing workplace safety, health, environmental, HR, and legal practices.
On Wednesday, September 4, Jonathan Martin will present “Dealing with Difficult People: Strategies to Avoid Workplace Conflict and its Consequence” from 9:30–10:30 a.m. His session will provide practical tools to help employers and managers navigate conflict in the workplace before it escalates into costly disputes.
Later that morning, from 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m., David Smith will present “Ethics Part 2: Let Your Moral Compass Lead: Ethics in the Workplace.” This session will explore how ethics and integrity shape workplace culture and decision-making, and why they remain critical components of effective compliance and risk management.
Jonathan Martin, Managing Partner of Constangy’s Macon office, represents employers in employment discrimination, labor, and wage & hour matters. A Colonel in the Georgia Air National Guard and former Air Force JAG attorney, he brings extensive trial and management training experience to corporations and government agencies nationwide.
David Smith advises employers on compliance with federal and state occupational safety and health requirements and helps develop workplace safety and health programs, including DOT-required drug testing policies. He also defends employers in OSHA citation contests and retaliation cases, and is a frequent speaker on OSHA-related topics.
