Heather is Board Certified in labor and employment law and counsels employers with a focus on problem solving, litigation prevention, risk reduction and legal analysis of complex employment issues. When matters escalate to litigation, she has successfully defended employers in all areas of employment law, including claims of unlawful discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliatory discharge, disability and Family and Medical Leave Act violations, wage and hour and equal pay violations, as well as cases involving claims of defamation, invasion of privacy, negligent hiring, retention and supervision, intentional infliction of emotional distress, fraud, and breach of contract. A significant portion of her clients are in the health care industry from large hospitals to independent medical practices. Heather also frequently provides engaging and interactive employment law training for supervisors and employees. Heather is also a Certified Mediator who mediates employment-related disputes, as well as disputes involving tort, contract, negligence, medical malpractice, car accidents and personal injury.

Heather is a frequent lecturer and presenter to national, regional and local audiences including the Society for Human Resources Management’s (SHRM) national conference, the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration’s (ASHHRA) national conference, the Association for Corporate Counsel (ACA), the Florida Bar, and to other organizations of attorneys, human resources, executives, and other professionals.

Heather is also the editor of the firm's "FOCUS on women leaders" blog.
