Overview

Joe provides employment-related representation and advice to local, regional, and national employers. Joe routinely represents employers against discrimination and retaliation charges before the EEOC and in federal and state court. In addition, he advises employers on a wide variety of policy and practice issues, such as minimum wage, overtime, attendance, discipline, medical and other types of employee leave, non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, union avoidance, and occupational health and safety.

Joe also conducts various training sessions for employers on a wide variety of topics such as employer monitoring of E-mail communications, minimum wage and overtime law, developing trends in employment discrimination litigation, and OSHA compliance

Joe is originally from coastal Georgia. Prior to entering the legal profession, he worked as a high school science teacher, as a first-line supervisor and safety director for a chemical manufacturer, and as a safety engineer for a small engine manufacturer. Joe also spent time as an associate university attorney at Georgia Southern University.
