Overview
Christine is a skilled litigator who represents employers in complex employment law matters, with a focus on wage and hour collective and class actions.
She counsels clients on a wide range of employment law issues, bringing a pragmatic and efficient approach to both litigation and day-to-day compliance. Christine has successfully litigated numerous cases, including both single plaintiff and collective/class actions, skillfully managing them from start to trial, and often achieving positive outcomes early in the process. She has a keen ability to tackle complex employment legal issues, including, but not limited to, handling wage and hour topics such as minimum wage, overtime, independent contractor classification, employment of minors, spread-of-hours, improper deductions, rest/meal breaks, fair workweek requirements, and overtime exemption classification; discrimination, harassment, and retaliation; drafting contracts such as employment, arbitration, severance, and protective covenant agreements; and providing guidance on reductions in force, progressive discipline, terminations, leaves of absence, sick leave laws, reasonable accommodations; and crafting of handbooks and onboarding documents.
Christine conducts critical internal audits and investigations to promote wage and hour compliance and a discrimination- and retaliation-free work environment. She regularly handles external wage and hour, unemployment, sick and safe leave, fair workweek, and workers’ compensation audits. And finally, Christine trains HR professionals on how to conduct workplace investigations.
Christine has co-authored reference books on independent contractor classification and the strategic use of robotics, artificial intelligence, and automation for corporate compliance. Additionally, she has written on topics such as:
