Cameron is a member of the Constangy Cyber Team based in Denver, Colorado. He supports clients in preparing for and responding to data security incidents, including working with forensics teams, coordinating breach response strategies, and navigating regulatory and consumer notification requirements.
As a member of the rapid response team, Cameron provides timely guidance to organizations facing ransomware, business email compromise, and other data security threats.
Cameron draws on a strong foundation in privacy law and litigation. His background includes supporting investigations and enforcement actions as a law clerk for the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), as well as assisting with internal privacy compliance efforts as a data privacy intern at a major airline. He is well-versed in legal issues related to the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA).
Before joining Constangy, Cameron served as a Deputy State Public Defender in Colorado, where he tried over 30 jury cases, argued motions on complex evidentiary and constitutional issues, wrote appeals, and obtained a grant of certiorari by the Colorado Supreme Court. A strong advocate for his clients, Cameron’s diverse background enables him to approach incident response with a sharp legal lens and a calm, client-centered approach.
Cameron earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado Law School, where he served as Articles Editor for the Colorado Technology Law Journal. While in law school, Cameron’s work contributed to the Federal Communications Commission adopting a new federal regulation requiring jails and prisons to provide accessible communication equipment to incarcerated people who are deaf or hard of hearing.
