Overview
David represents employers in the full spectrum of employment law matters.
He defends organizations in single-plaintiff and class and collective actions in state and federal courts, arbitrations, and administrative agencies. He also routinely handles investigations, complex motion practice, and negotiations, and is known for his pragmatic approach to resolving high-exposure disputes.
David also counsels employers across industries—including retail, banking, insurance, entertainment, and technology—on compliance with California and federal employment laws. He has developed employment policies and full HR departments for employers both large and small, and has acted as a de facto in-house employment counsel for many companies. His advisory work spans wage and hour issues, accommodation, leaves of absence, employee relations, reductions in force, and workplace investigations. Representative clients include Target, Unum, Westfield, and 99 Cents Only Stores.
