Overview
Sydney is a member of the Constangy Cyber Team and is based in the firm's Washington D.C., Northern Virginia office. She supports clients through all phases of the incident response lifecycle, including investigating cybersecurity events, identifying reporting obligations, and providing strategic guidance on mitigation and communication.
With a background in data privacy, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance, Sydney brings a thoughtful, practical approach to managing sensitive matters in fast-paced environments.
Before joining Constangy, Sydney gained experience advising on data privacy, cybersecurity policies, and branding concerns in the higher education sector. She worked on trademark and copyright matters, conducted contract reviews, and helped develop internal policies addressing privacy and media issues. Her work included briefing senior leadership on legal considerations related to social media privacy and institutional branding. Her work supporting legal compliance and governance efforts across NCAA-regulated athletic departments, media outlets, and university offices, enhanced her understanding of complex institutional structures and the importance of risk mitigation in regulated settings.
Sydney earned her Juris Doctor from Marquette University Law School where she was Editor of the Sports Law Review and served in leadership roles for the Chicago Women in IP, Marquette Sports Law Program, Black Law Students Association, and other organizations focused on privacy, communications, security, and technology. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics, cum laude, from George Mason University, where she was Pi Gamma Mu. She is licensed in Wisconsin and maintains memberships in several professional associations focused on privacy, technology, and sports business.

About Me
Sydney is a former tennis player, programmer, and competitive public speaker from Chesapeake, Virginia. She enjoys art, poetry, science fiction movies/books, and sports. Her favorites leagues to watch are the WNBA, NFL, Women’s College Basketball, and College Football. Her favorite sports to play are tennis and golf. During undergraduate and law school, she worked with athletic departments in communications, where she worked on projects for the NCAA College Basketball Tournament and Fox Sports. Additionally, she graduated high school from a STEM Academy, has built robots, and can still code.
