Meet Constangy’s Newest Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Partner, John Keir

Constangy recently welcomed John Keir as a partner in the firm’s Cybersecurity & Data Privacy practice, where he is based in Atlanta, Georgia. John’s addition further strengthens the firm’s ability to advise clients on complex privacy, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence governance challenges.

John advises organizations on a wide range of privacy, cybersecurity, and AI governance matters. As part of the firm’s compliance advisory team, he helps companies navigate rapidly evolving regulatory requirements while aligning compliance strategies with broader business and technology operations. His practice focuses on global data protection frameworks, cybersecurity incident response, privacy program governance, and emerging AI risk management issues.

John brings more than a decade of experience counseling multinational organizations and highly regulated financial institutions on privacy and information security compliance. He regularly advises clients on major domestic and international privacy regimes, including the GDPR and CCPA/CPRA, and works with organizations to develop practical, business-aligned approaches to data governance. Prior to joining Constangy, he served as Lead Counsel for Data Privacy & Security at Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), where he directed global privacy and AI governance programs, worked closely with engineering and security teams to operationalize privacy-by-design principles, and led legal response efforts for cybersecurity incidents.

Earlier in his career, John held information security roles supporting federal defense and government technology programs and later served as an adjunct professor at Emory University School of Law, where he taught courses on privacy, information security, and AI law. He earned his Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law and his Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and he holds several industry-recognized cybersecurity certifications, including CISSP and CRISC.
