Welcoming Top Talent: Introducing the Constangy Cyber Team's three newest attorneys

The Constangy Cyber Team continues to expand our capabilities with the addition of three exceptional attorneys who joined the team this month.

Madison Balasek, Aaron Davis, and Ashley Waring and bring impressive credentials and experience in data privacy and cybersecurity law, enhancing our ability to respond swiftly and strategically to client needs in a rapidly evolving landscape.

Madison Balasek – Associate, San Francisco, California

Madison Balasek brings a background in data privacy compliance and cybersecurity risk management to the Constangy Cyber Team. She advises clients on a range of privacy and data protection issues, including cross-border data transfers, incident response, and compliance with U.S. state consumer privacy laws and global regulatory frameworks.

Madison has experience drafting and negotiating privacy policies and data protection terms, performing privacy risk assessments, and supporting incident response evaluations. She is well-versed in key domestic and international privacy regimes, including the CCPA/CPRA, EU and UK GDPR, LGPD, and Swiss FADP.

Before joining Constangy, Madison advised healthcare and life sciences clients on privacy compliance matters. She earned her J.D. from Loyola Law School, where she served as Senior Research Editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles International & Comparative Law Review and as a student attorney for the Loyola Genocide Justice Clinic. Aaron Davis – Associate, Boston, Massachusetts

Aaron Davis brings significant government and private sector experience to the Constangy Cyber Team. As a member of our rapid response team, he helps manage responses to data privacy and security events. Before joining Constangy, Aaron served in the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, most recently as an Assistant Attorney General in the Data Privacy & Security Division. In that role, he led high-profile investigations, negotiated complex settlements related to alleged privacy and cybersecurity violations, and played a key role in litigation against major tech platforms. He also served in the Consumer Protection Division and contributed to legislative review and policy recommendations on evolving privacy laws. Before serving as an Assistant Attorney General, he worked in private practice on intellectual property and technology matters, including contract drafting, trademark protection, and licensing issues.

Aaron earned his law degree from the UCLA School of Law, during which he served as a Law Clerk for the U.S. Copyright Office, Office of General Counsel. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree, magna cum laude, from Berklee College of Music. He is licensed in both Massachusetts and New York. Aaron’s full bio is available here.

Ashley Waring – Associate, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Ashley Waring brings substantial experience responding to data security incidents to the Constangy Cyber Team. As a member of our rapid response team, she brings over two years of experience managing responses to data privacy and security events. She applies that experience in facilitating the deployment of resources to contain and remediate incidents, and in assessing and helping clients comply with consumer, regulatory, contractual and industry-specific notification obligations. She also provides crisis communication guidance and interfaces with law enforcement and regulatory agencies while assisting clients respond to inquiries from them. Ashley also has over six years of litigation experience, which provides special insight into the mitigation of third party liability. She is licensed to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Ashley earned her law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law, where she was inducted into the Order of Barristers and Pro Bono Honor Society. She served as a Member and Chief Justice of the Moot Court Board and President of the Black Law Students Association. She also served as Articles Editor for the Wake Forest Journal of Law and Policy. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Rowan University where she earned numerous academic honors and was a Rowan Scholar-Athlete as a guard on the women’s basketball team.
