Managing the overlap between the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”), the Family and Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”), and state workers' compensation benefit laws can be challenging. This interactive presentation will focus on the importance of not only coordinating the “alphabet” (FMLA, ADA, WC, LTD, STD, and COBRA) correctly but also keeping watch for potential abuse and fraud. We will discuss methods employers can use to address employees who try to take advantage of these laws and discuss how to maintain compliance when facing the Bermuda Triangle of employment laws.
