At work: Opportunities to work alongside nationally recognized, experienced partners are plenty. Unlike  at some other firms, associates at Constangy are presented opportunities for client contact at very early stages of their careers.  Constangy prides itself in promoting an "open door" atmosphere, where junior attorneys are encouraged to approach their more-experienced colleagues with questions and concerns. Associates are invited early in their career to become part of the Constangy team by serving in leadership roles or performing special project work for a firm committee, council or task force. Attorneys are also offered a variety of specialized training programs throughout their career to further their education and practice skills. Our Attorneys come from wide and varied backgrounds educationally, ethnically, geographically, economically, and career-wise.  Some had careers before going into law, such as newspaper editors, school teachers, manufacturing plant managers, and HR directors.  We like the mix.

At home:  Constangy is committed to helping attorneys maintain a balance between life at home and life at work and, to that end, provides benefits designed to help with the wonderful transitions brought by welcoming a new child into the family.  We are proud to offer paid maternity/paternity and adoption leaves and paid time off, a rich package of health and welfare benefits, and a wellness program including contributions towards gym memberships. We believe in supporting not only the attorney but the overall family as a whole.

The Balance:  Constangy recognizes that sometimes the best talent may have less than full-time availability and that we may need to assist attorneys in their pursuit of the right balance of professional goals and personal commitments. For this reason, we offer alternative work arrangements including traditional part-time schedules, Counsel arrangements and possibilities for attorneys to work remotely. Our associates are treated as self-motivated professionals from the outset and are expected to work the hours necessary to meet our clients’ needs and firm goals without excessive monitoring or unnecessary scrutiny.
