This session will provide a detailed explanation about the security controls necessary to protect information systems and mitigate the risk of liability resulting from data security events. It will explain the specific means by which malicious actors exploit vulnerabilities and manipulate security controls, and measures that can be implemented to mitigate the risk of exploitation and manipulation. This information will assist cyber insurance brokers in preparing clients for placement with and renewal for cyber insurance policies. It will also assist claims counsel to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of information governance and the means by which malicious actors conduct reconnaissance and access to networks.  It will also assist underwriters to better understand the unique risks posed by a lack of aligned layered security.
