Don't panic! Employers should be able to continue most post-accident drug tests under OSHA's new "Reasonable Reporting Procedure" Rule

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is enforcing the nation's workplace safety laws through a variety of new and creative approaches and workplace inspection initiatives. The Agency has substantially increased maximum penalties by 78 percent effective August 1, 2016, and will require electronic reporting by employers. To top it off, OSHA has decided to become involved in post-accident workplace drug testing with these regulations set for enforcement to begin on August 10, 2016. Employers who choose not to heed OSHA's announcements contained in its Final Rule may face considerable economic liability and employee retaliation claims.

The good news is that the post-accident drug testing provisions are not as burdensome for employers as many commentators first reported.

This webinar will educate employers about how OSHA's new position on post-accident drug testing will affect them and will provide them with risk reduction steps they can take to remain in compliance.

Bill Principe of our Workplace Safety Practice Group and Tommy Eden of our Workplace Drug & Alcohol Testing Practice Group will be the presenters for this webinar.

Have a question? When you register, you can submit in advance any questions you have about this topic. Tommy and Bill will try to answer all questions during the webinar, but they'll give priority to any questions that are submitted in advance.
