Massachusetts Emergency Paid Sick Leave for COVID-19 is extended until April 1, 2022

Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker (R) has signed into law legislation that will extend until April 1, 2022, the state’s Emergency Paid Sick Leave for reasons related to COVID-19. The leave, which was due to expire yesterday, is available for the following reasons:

  • To self-isolate and care for oneself because of a diagnosis of COVID-19.

  • To seek or obtain medical diagnosis, care, or treatment for symptoms of COVID-19.

  • To obtain the COVID-19 vaccine or recover from any injury, disability, illness, condition related to the vaccination.

  • To care for a family member who is self-isolating or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.

  • To help a family member get vaccinated and recover from any illness or disability related to the immunization.

“Family member” includes an employee’s spouse, domestic partner, child, parent (including the parent of a spouse or domestic partner), grandchild, grandparent, or sibling.
