Constangy Grieves the Passing of Partner Richard E. Bromley

Press Room

It is with deep sorrow that Constangy shares the news of the loss of our esteemed partner and dear friend, Richard Bromley. “Richard was a person of incredibly strong moral character and faith,” said Neil Wasser. “He met each day with grace, courage and strength. Through our sadness, we are reminded that Richard left our world and our Firm a better place.”

Managing partner of Constangy’s Los Angeles office, Ken Sulzer, remarked, “Richard was a teacher and mentor to many. A valued confidante on all matters related to firm management and a close and important professional collaborator to me and many of us.”

Frank Shuster, who helped in recruiting Richard to Constangy added, “As a lawyer, he was a ‘high road’ advocate for his client’s interests. Rich was cautious when the circumstances dictated caution, and aggressive when they called for forceful advocacy. He was a Mensch.”

Richard blazed the trail for Constangy's Los Angeles office when he became part of the firm in 2015. With his extensive experience as a litigator, he focused on employment and wage and hour issues, diligently representing employers in various state and federal courts throughout California. Richard’s active participation extended beyond the courtroom, as he was engaged in several professional organizations, including the California State Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law Section and the Los Angeles County Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law Section.

In addition to his professional commitments, Richard was a dedicated member of his local community. He served as a Personnel Committee member for the Bel Air Presbyterian Church and played an integral role on the Board of Directors for Claris Health.

Richard earned his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. In 1991, he was awarded his law degree with distinction from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he was also recognized as a member of the prestigious Order of the Coif. As a law student, Richard earned numerous accolades, including the American Jurisprudence Award for Remedies and the Torts Award for Scholarly Performance. His academic achievements were further acknowledged through his membership in the Traynor Honor Society.

Beyond his legal career, Richard was a loving husband and devoted father. Please join us in extending condolences to Richard's family and all those who cherished him.
