Constangy is delighted to announce Aji Abiedu, Stacy Lall and Jeanette Phelan have joined the firm.
Abiedu has over a decade of extensive experience in labor and employment litigation and a keen ability to navigate complex legal issues. Using this background, she confidently manages a voluminous and complex multi-jurisdictional litigation docket, working to achieve favorable outcomes for her clients. Abideu’s litigation prowess includes representing clients in a range of litigation matters, including wage and hour class and PAGA actions, EEOC and DFEH charges, and claims of discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wrongful termination. She has prevailed on motions to compel arbitration and opposing motions under novel statutes, demonstrating her proficiency in both legal strategy and advocacy. With a deep understanding of federal and California employment law, Abiedu also advises clients on a wide range of issues impacting the modern workplace, including employee compensation and benefits, diversity, equity and inclusion, ADA, FMLA, and other leave issues, whistleblower claims, and workplace investigations. She is located in the firm’s Orange County office.
Lall, senior counsel located in the firm’s San Francisco office, is a seasoned litigator with over a decade of experience representing businesses across a wide range of legal issues. From defending class action lawsuits to protecting intellectual property rights, Lall is known for her rigorous and innovative approaches to complicated situations. Lall is sought after by clients for her ability to navigate complex legal situations with proactive, results-oriented solutions. In California's dynamic legal landscape, Lall serves as a trusted advocate, offering sophisticated and insightful counsel to employers grappling with multifaceted legal challenges.
Phelan serves as senior counsel in the firm’s Minneapolis office, practicing exclusively in the Immigration section of the firm. With a legal career spanning over 30 years, including more than 20 years dedicated to immigration law, she focuses her practice on labor certification and green card applications while also adeptly handling a diverse range of non-immigrant work visas. Phelan has worked on PERM labor certification applications since the inception of the government’s online system in 2005 and is well-versed in its intricacies. She also handles appeals to BALCA (the Board of Alien Labor Certification Appeals). Jeanette works with employers of all types and sizes, from very large Fortune 500 companies to small mom-and-pop businesses. Prior to joining Constangy, Phelan worked with several large law firms and was a professor at two universities, teaching paralegal studies. Phelan speaks regularly at seminars on immigration related topics, including I-9 compliance matters.
