Constangy Welcomes Malak Jaouad and Ryli McDonald
Constangy is delighted to announce Malak Jaouad and Ryli McDonald have joined the firm.
Jaouad is located in the firm’s Los Angeles office. She brings a wealth of experience to the field of labor and employment law, with a focus on representing employers in a variety of litigation and counseling matters. With a comprehensive understanding of both state and federal regulations, Jaouad has successfully navigated complex legal landscapes, consistently achieving favorable outcomes for clients. In her career, Jaouad has demonstrated a strong proficiency in handling a range of employment claims, including single-plaintiff litigation, class actions, and representative actions under the California Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA). She has represented clients in allegations of pay equity, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour violations, and other employment torts.
McDonald is a member of the Constangy Cyber Team and is based in Denver, Colorado. She counsels clients on compliance with data privacy and information security laws and guides them through the development of policies and practices to meet their regulatory and contractual requirements. McDonald’s compliance work is informed by extensive experience managing responses to data security incidents and facilitating digital forensics investigations. She has assisted hundreds of clients respond to ransomware attacks, business email compromises, and various data privacy and information security matters. In many of those matters, she provided crisis communications guidance and assisted clients in complying with consumer notification and regulatory reporting obligations. McDonald incorporates the insight gained from her extensive incident response experience in assisting clients develop data privacy programs, preparing incident response plans, and mitigating the risk of liability stemming from data privacy or security events. She also holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) credential from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
