Press Room

National labor and employment law firm Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete is pleased to welcome two new partners to its Northern New Jersey and Asheville office, continuing an aggressive expansion that has brought eight new attorneys to the firm over the past month.

Keya Denner has joined the Northern New Jersey office as a partner, bringing 18 years of experience in labor and employment litigation, with a strong focus on FMLA, ADA, and cannabis issues. Denner comes to Constangy from FordHarrison where he chaired the Cannabis Law Group, helping employers navigate the ever-evolving regulatory environment related to medical and recreational cannabis and other drug testing and enforcement policies. Before joining Ford Harrison, Denner spent 14 years at Norris McLaughlin. He has been recognized as a New Leader of the Bar by the New Jersey Law Journal. Denner received his undergraduate degree from Boston University and his J.D. from Seton Hall University.

Missy Sumerell Spainhour has joined the Asheville office as a partner. She has more than 20 years of labor and employment law experience, spending the last 12 years as a partner at Davis Hartman Wright LLP. In addition to a strong litigation and advice and counseling background, Spainhour is experienced in conducting workplace investigations and is a certified mediator. She is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell. Spainhour received her undergraduate degree from Sewanee: the University of the South and her J.D. from Wake Forest University.

“It’s an exciting time for Constangy as we continue to pursue smart, strategic expansion,” said Neil Wasser, chair of Constangy’s executive committee. “We’re committed to making the investments in talent and technology that will help us continue to grow and thrive, and we’re delighted to have outstanding attorneys like Keya and Missy join our team.”
