While religious accommodation cases used to be relatively rare, recent events, like the conflict in Israel and the Supreme Court's decisions in Groff and 303 Creative, have shaken up the legal landscape surrounding religion in the workplace.

Constangy partner, Frank Shuster, recently spoke to the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) on how current events have pushed conversations around religious accommodation further into the mainstream, creating additional challenges for employers.

"We’re entering a whole new world of religion in the workplace,” Frank says. With employees becoming emboldened by the recent discourse, employers may face an influx of requests for religious accommodation and claims alleging religious discrimination.
