Jon Persky Recognized as a Thomson Reuters™ Stand-Out Lawyer for 2025

Award

Constangy is pleased to announce that partner Jon Persky has been named to the Thomson Reuters™ Stand-Out Lawyers list for 2025. This prestigious recognition is based on an extensive evaluation of more than 20,000 client nominations collected over the past three years. The selection process, conducted through Thomson Reuters’ Sharplegal study, relies exclusively on feedback from senior in-house counsel, highlighting attorneys who consistently deliver exceptional legal service and client value.

Representing Employers Across Industries

Jon represents clients in federal and state courts, arbitration, and administrative agencies. His practice focuses on:

  • Defending employers against discrimination claims, wage and hour disputes, and putative class actions.
  • Litigating complex business disputes involving post-employment restrictive covenants, trade secret misappropriation, and contract claims arising out of the employment relationship.
  • Providing advice and counsel to ensure compliance and protect against legal exposure.

A Strategic Litigator

When employment disputes reach litigation, Jon’s knack for strategic legal writing and courtroom advocacy often resolves cases in his clients’ favor before they ever reach trial. His ability to craft persuasive arguments with clarity and confidence has led to numerous awards of summary judgment and dismissal in high-value, complex cases. But when trial is inevitable, Jon has a proven track record of success presenting his case to a jury and defending his client’s verdict on appeal.

More Than Just a Litigator

Jon’s skills go beyond the courtroom. He provides day-to-day counseling on employment-related matters, including:

  • Mitigating risk in hiring, discipline, and termination decisions.
  • Advising employers on requests for protected leave and disability accommodation.
  • Ensuring compliance with wage and hour laws.
  • Conducting workplace investigations and offering guidance during organizational crises.
  • Drafting policies and employee handbooks.

Jon’s practical advice helps employers prevent problems before they arise, heading off expensive and risky litigation.

An Accomplished Career

Before joining Constangy as senior counsel in 2018, Jon was an associate at Boston-based firms, focused on business litigation and employment law. Jon attended the University of Connecticut School of Law, where he graduated with highest honors in 2006. He is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.

Jon was previously recognized as a Thomson Reuters™ Stand-Out Lawyer in 2023.
