Overview

Terry advises employers on complex employment law matters and represents them in litigation, administrative proceedings, and workplace strategy.

He counsels companies, boards of directors, and senior leadership on a wide range of employment issues, including litigation defense, compliance, and employment-related transactions. Terry appears before state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels and frequently represents clients in administrative proceedings before agencies such as the EEOC, OSHA, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement.

In addition to his employment practice, Terry is often called upon to handle complex business and commercial litigation matters. In this vein he has experience in field of recreational liability and transactional issues for resort management. He supports clients in California and across the country, working with local counsel in jurisdictions including Texas, New York, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah to deliver consistent, high-quality representation.

Terry is also affiliated with the Lawyers’ Committee for Cultural Heritage Preservation and regularly collaborates with leading cultural property and art law firms in complex civil litigation involving cultural heritage disputes, provenance issues, and regulatory matters within the global art and antiquities market.  His unique experience in both employment law and cultural heritage litigation brings a multidimensional perspective to his practice.

Prior to private practice Terry served Clerkships with the Utah Supreme Court and the Eastern District of California. Clients value Terry’s litigation skills, practical insight, and strategic approach to resolving high-stakes matters in both the public and private sectors.

About Me

Outside of work, Terry enjoys snow skiing, a lifelong passion that has taken him to slopes across Canada and the Western United States. These days, he can most often be found carving turns in the Wasatch Mountains, home to what many consider the greatest snow on earth. He also enjoys traveling with his family, is an avid reader, and as a Bruin parent, remains a devoted lifelong fan of UCLA sports.
