National labor and employment law firm Constangy, Brooks & Smith and Prophete, LLP congratulates Atlanta-based partner Erica Mason, who was recently sworn as the 2017-2018 President of the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA).

Erica Mason

Mason previously served as co-chair of HNBA’s Latina Commission, as the organization's National Finance Director, and as a representative to HNBA’s inaugural Collaborative Leadership Bar Academy. She was also named in 2016 as one of HNBA’s “Top Lawyers Under 40.”

The Hispanic National Bar Association is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, national membership organization that represents the interests of Hispanic legal professionals in the United States and its territories. In addition to her role with HNBA, Mason currently serves on the Minority Corporate Counsel Association/American Bar Association Bias Interrupters Working Group a joint effort between the two organizations to develop best-practice metrics and bias interrupting programs and tools designed for law firms and in-house legal departments. Mason also serves on the ABA’s Standing Committee on the American Judicial System Subcommittee on Federal Courts, and is a member of ABA’s Women’s Rainmakers, Law Practice Management and Labor & Employment Law sections. She has also been recognized by Best Lawyers in America, Georgia SuperLawyers and as a “Legal Elite” and “40 under 40” by Georgia Trend magazine.

“Erica exemplifies Constangy’s commitment to top-down diversity. This latest honor from HNBA recognizes her outstanding legal skills and her commitment to advancing the roles of minorities and women in the legal profession. We’re proud to have her as a member of our Constangy family and look forward to HNBA’s continued growth and success under Erica’s leadership.”

“The HNBA is delighted to welcome Erica as our 40th National President,” said Alba Cruz-Hacker, HNBA COO & Executive Director. “Ms. Mason’s demonstrated commitment to service, and to the cause of diversity and inclusion in the legal profession, will take our organization to new heights. The 2017-2018 period will be transformational with Ms. Mason at the helm, and we are excited to work with her to serve our constituents and the Latino community in general.”
