In October 2022 the U.S. Department of Labor proposed new regulations establishing a new test for determining whether workers will be deemed independent contractors or employees.

These new regulations will result in many of the estimated 22.1 million workers currently classified as independent contractors to be reclassified as employees. These newly minted employees will be entitled to minimum wage and overtime, and their employers will be obligated to maintain accurate records of the hours they work.

Join partners Tom Scroggins and Brooke Nixon as they discuss:

  • The DOL’s new multifactor totality of the circumstances test and ways you can prepare for the coming wave of reclassifications
  • The DOL compliance audits
  • Lawsuits these new regulations will instigate
