Constangy Administrative Partner and General Counsel, Teresa Bult, was selected as an honoree of the Nashville Business Journal’s 2024 Leaders in Diversity Awards in the “Diversity Champion” category. These awards recognize top executives in Nashville who have promoted initiatives, resources and community involvement advancing diversity in the region.

“Teresa is an inspirational leader, mentor and resource who has propelled our firm and industry forward in such important ways,” said Mary Dohner Smith, Constangy’s Nashville office managing partner. “Constangy is known throughout the country for our amazing culture centered on inclusion, and Teresa has been a central figure in developing and advancing the initiatives behind that reputation. We are so fortunate to have her leadership and grateful she is being recognized with this well-deserved honor.”

The Leaders in Diversity program aims to recognize professionals who are working to improve diversity and inclusion in the Nashville business community.

Over the past 25 years, Teresa has been involved in several significant efforts in firm leadership and administration. She created Constangy’s Women’s Network, which provides networking education and leadership opportunities for the firm’s women employees and clients. From that network, she has also led several events to bring together female attorneys and high-profile clients. These events have been a big success for close to two decades.

Beyond these programs, Teresa has also led in areas that have direct implications on diversity, equity and inclusion within the firm. She is a champion for remote and hybrid work environments, which has fostered flexibility and a wider recruiting scope. Teresa is also helping spearhead research into artificial intelligence with the firm, serving on the AI committee to evaluate how to best incorporate emerging technology while accounting for the risks and benefits that come with it.

Among the additional honors and recognitions Teresa has earned in her career, she is a fellow in the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, a fellow in the American Bar Foundation and a previous Nashville Business Journal Women of Influence honoree. She is consistently recognized by Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America, and Super Lawyers.

Teresa earned her law degree from the Pepperdine University School of Law and her undergraduate degree from John Brown University.
