Constangy Promotes Ashley Waring to Senior Counsel
Constangy is pleased to announce that Ashley Waring has been promoted to senior counsel. Based in Philadelphia, Ashley is a member of the firm’s Cyber Team and advises clients on data privacy and cybersecurity matters.
Drawing on her experience responding to data privacy and security events, Ashley helps clients navigate every stage of the incident response lifecycle, from coordinating forensic investigations under the attorney-client privilege to preparing notifications for affected individuals and communicating with law enforcement, regulatory authorities, and cyber insurers.
Ashley works with a diverse range of clients, including healthcare providers, financial institutions, financial and wealth management firms, engineering firms, educational institutions, government and quasi-government entities, technology companies, and other professional services organizations. She helps clients evaluate incident response efforts, document internal and external findings, and implement practical measures to mitigate cybersecurity risk. Ashley also works with clients to proactively prepare for and prevent cybersecurity incidents, including advising on enhanced security protocols.
Before focusing her practice on data privacy and cybersecurity, Ashley developed a strong litigation background representing employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators across New Jersey and Pennsylvania. That experience informs her understanding of potential liability arising from data privacy and security events and the importance of proactively mitigating risk.
Ashley earned her Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law, where she was inducted into the Order of Barristers and Pro Bono Honor Society. She served as a member and Chief Justice of the Moot Court Board, President of the Black Law Students Association, and Articles Editor for the Wake Forest Journal of Law and Policy. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Rowan University, where she received numerous academic honors and was a Rowan Scholar-Athlete as a guard on the women’s basketball team.
Ashley is licensed to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She was recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® “Ones to Watch” for Privacy and Data Security Law (2027).
