Laura Balson and Leo Tyree Present at ACC Chicago Summit
Constangy Chicago office managing partner and Whistleblower & Retaliation Practice Group co-chair Laura Balson and Constangy senior counsel Leo Tyree will present at the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Chicago’s annual Summit on September 15, 2026, at the Union League Club Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. Laura and Leo will present “Balancing Compliance and Performance: Disability Accommodations in the Modern Workplace” from 11 a.m. to noon CST.
ACC Chicago’s annual Summit brings together in-house counsel for a full day of substantive CLE programming, professional development, peer networking, and conversation. Attendees will have the opportunity to earn Illinois MCLE credit, and the program includes breakfast, lunch, and an evening cocktail reception. Attendance is limited to ACC members, prospective in-house ACC members, and guests of event sponsors.
During their session, Laura and Leo will provide a comprehensive review of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and similar state laws, with a focus on the interactive process, confidentiality obligations, and reasonable accommodation analysis. Through discussion of real-world scenarios, they will address accommodation requests involving mental health conditions and remote work while maintaining productivity and accountability standards. The program will also offer practical tips for managing employee performance when accommodations are in place.

Laura is the managing partner of Constangy’s Chicago office and co-chair of the firm’s Whistleblower & Retaliation Practice Group. She advises employers across industries on workplace matters and risk management, including employment practice audits and due diligence in corporate transactions. An experienced litigator, Laura represents employers before administrative agencies and in state and federal courts and has argued appellate matters before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Leo is senior counsel in Constangy’s Chicago office and represents employers in traditional labor relations, employment litigation, workplace counseling, and emerging employment and antitrust matters. Her practice includes collective bargaining, union relations, labor arbitrations, workplace investigations, accommodations and leave management, employee discipline, restrictive covenants, and other employment matters. Before joining Constangy, Leo served as a Senior Trial Attorney with the Federal Trade Commission, where she handled antitrust investigations and litigation involving labor market competition, workforce mobility, restrictive employment agreements, and other competition issues.
