Constangy Cyber Team partner Matthew Toldero spoke at the Wake Forest University School of Law on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. The program, What Is Data Privacy Law?, explored the practice of data privacy law across a range of industries.

During the session, Matthew discussed what it is like to work as a data privacy lawyer, offering a practical overview of the profession across law firms, in-house, and public-sector roles. He shared perspectives on the distinctions between these paths and the evolving demands of data privacy practice, drawing on his experience advising clients on data security incidents and regulatory compliance.

Matthew Toldero is a partner and member of Constangy’s Cyber Team, based in the firm’s Winston-Salem office. He brings more than a decade of combined experience in incident response and risk management and serves on the firm’s Rapid Response Team. Matthew has handled over 1,000 security incidents across a wide range of industries, advising clients on matters involving ransomware, business email compromise, and data breach response. His work includes navigating state, federal, and international data privacy laws, including HIPAA, CCPA, and GDPR.
