Overview
Tammy is Senior Counsel and Co-Chair of the firm's Cannabis & Employee Substance Abuse Practice Group, where she guides employers on workplace drug testing policies, employment litigation prevention, and employee substance abuse issues.
She advises clients on all aspects of employment law, helping them navigate workplace challenges to avoid disputes. Tammy defends employers in state and federal court litigation involving discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims, as well as tort-based employment claims such as wrongful discharge, invasion of privacy, and assault and battery. She also supports clients with drafting policies and employee handbooks, conducting investigations, and delivering training to help prevent discrimination and harassment.
Tammy’s experience includes representing employers in matters involving wrongful termination, breach of contract, fraud, covenants not-to-compete, workers’ compensation, and unemployment compensation claims. She also serves as an administrative hearing officer for a municipality, conducting appeals of personnel board decisions, and routinely advises on legal strategies that align with employers’ operational goals.
Tammy has more than two decades of experience helping employers manage legal risk across a wide range of industries. She offers practical guidance on workplace drug testing programs and employee substance abuse issues, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements while balancing safety and employee rights. She frequently works with employers to design and implement policies that mitigate risk and promote a respectful workplace.
