Overview
John Combs represents employers in transitioning their temporary nonimmigrant workers to lawful permanent residents with "green cards."
His practice focuses primarily on the initial permanent labor certification process overseen by the U.S. Department of Labor, required for most employer sponsored immigrants. He also advises on portability issues when foreign employees change positions before their green cards are issued and successor-in-interest issues when employers undergo corporate changes.
Prior to joining Constangy, John acquired more than 25 years of business immigration experience at immigration boutique, regional and national law firms. He has directed business immigration programs for multinational companies, particularly in the information technology sector, assisting those employers with nonimmigrant visa petitions and coordinating the lengthy permanent residency application process.
