Overview
Sandra advises employers on a broad range of employment law and human resources matters, with a focus on proactive compliance strategies designed to prevent litigation and reduce workplace risk.
Sandra counsels employers on workplace policies, employee relations, wage and hour compliance, discrimination and harassment issues, accommodations and leave management, severance and restrictive covenant agreements, and workplace investigations. She regularly drafts and revises employee handbooks, employment agreements, HR procedures, and other employment-related policies and documentation tailored to clients’ operational needs. Sandra also conducts workplace trainings, oversees and conducts workplace investigations, and advises employers on day-to-day personnel issues, helping organizations navigate complex employment matters while maintaining practical business solutions.
Before joining Constangy, Sandra practiced at a California-based employment law firm, where she advised employers on employment law and HR compliance matters and defended employers in employment litigation and administrative proceedings. She also previously operated her own employment law practice, counseling employers on compliance, workplace investigations, and litigation prevention strategies.
Earlier in her career, Sandra practiced with several management-side labor and employment firms, representing employers in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies, including the EEOC, Cal/OSHA, and the California Labor Commissioner. She has experience handling matters involving discrimination, harassment, wage and hour compliance, wrongful termination, and workplace safety issues, and has successfully represented employers through dispositive motion practice and litigation proceedings. Sandra also served as a Compliance Officer at Experian Interactive Media, where she advised business units on regulatory and employment compliance matters.
In addition to her legal practice, Sandra has taught business law as an adjunct lecturer and regularly presents workplace training programs and continuing legal education seminars on employment law topics.
